Champagne Mailly Grand Cru

After the crisis of 1929, 25 families came together to show that they were capable of overcoming all these obstacles. The Mailly Grand Cru Cooperative was born, whose vineyards are located exclusively in the Grand Cru village of Mailly-en-Champagne. With the motto ‘à la tête par la main’ – Together we can make it happen, the Cooperative continues to this day, with the successors of the same families at the helm and with exceptional quality. In 2013, he replaced his cellar chef with Sebastien Moncuit, after Hervé Dantán left for Champagne Lanson. · Founded: 1929 · Classification: Cooperative (CM) · Production: 500,000 bottles per year · Culture: HVE seal of sustainability since 2015. 100% Sustainable since 2021 · Winery: The cooperative is made up of 25 families and the harvest is organized to take place at the same time by all the growers. The base wines are produced in stainless steel tanks separated by parcel (35 different), to generate a base wine of higher quality for the blend. Some of their champagnes have malolactic fermentation. · Vineyards: 75 hectares in Mailly-Champagne (100% Grand Cru), Heart of Montagne de Reims, of which 50% are facing north – 75% Pinot Noir – 25% Chardonnay · Recommended cuvée: L’Intemporelle – despite its name (“timeless” in Portuguese), it is a delicate and elegant vintage champagne (last vintage on the market is 2012), with a predominance of floral and white fruits and a special saline touch.
